This
is the Georgia-the wondering country.
The Most of the history is created as legends and
myths. The great Titan Amirani, the Georgian
Prometheus, chained to one of these mountain
faces, punished for bringing fire to humanity.
Others may recall the Golden Fleece stolen from
the kingdom of Colchis by Jason with the old of
the king's daughter Medea, who was then taken to
Greece together with Jason's Argonauts. |

They
may well be ancestors of every Asian, European and Native American alive
today. The Oldest
Hominid Site Found in Eurasia to Date. Paleontological,
archaeological, geochronological, and paleomagnetic
data from Dmanisi all indicate
an earliest Pleistocene age of about 1.8
MA. |

Day 1 |
ISTANBUL. Meet
and greet upon arrival at Istanbul Ataturk Airport and
transfer
to
hotel in city centre for overnight.

Day 2 |
Istanbul.Full
day city sightseeing. Visits
to Topkapi Palace (closed on Tuesdays),
St.
Sophia (replaced by Underground Basilica Cistern on
Mondays) the
Hippodrome,
Turkish and Islamic Arts Museum, the Blue Mosque, and
the
Grand Bazaar. Overnight
at hotel.

Day 3 |
Istanbul
-Trabzon. Visit
the Egyptian Spice Market (closed on Sundays).
Then cruise along the
Bosphorus by ferry boat enjoying views of both the
European and the
Asian
shores adorned with palaces and many traditional style
old wooden
mansions. Visit the Sadberk Hanim Ethnological Museum.
Proceed to
Domestic
Flights Terminal of Istanbul Ataturk Airport for a 90
minute
flight
to Trabzon by TK 550 at 16:50 hrs. In Trabzon transfer
to hotel
for
overnight.

Day 4 |
TRABZON. After
breakfast, departure from hotel for full day visits of
the Ayasofya
Museum
built in the 13th century by King Manuel I as
a church, the Sumela
Monastery
within the boundaries of Macka Altindere village, on top
of a
black
hill, built inside a natural stone cave.
The
monastery, built in the 4th
century
was expanded in the 6th century botanical
garden
then drive along the Firtina River to the little town of
Camlihemsin
for
lunch.
Hike
to Zil Castle built during the Byzantine period in the
14th
century.

Day 5 |
Camlihemsin
- BATUMI. After
breakfast depart from hotel and drive to Sarp,
Turkish-Georgian
Border.Cross in to Georgia. After completing customs and
immigration
formalities
continue to Batumi.
One of the ancient towns of Georgia. A settlement
existed here in the 3rd-2nd cc BC.
Ancient Greeks knew the site as “Bapus”.

Day 6 |
Batumi-KUTAISI. After
breakfast depart from hotel and drive to
Kutaisi., the plot of the ancient epic by Apollonius
of Rhodos is associated with the city -this concerns the
legendary town of Colchis, to which the argonauts sailed
in search of the Golden
Fleece. En
route visit Nokalakevi Fortress (Arqeopolis).
This was the capital of Lazica-Egrisi. (Very
interesting is a Palace of Miurat in town Zugdidi
. You will see one of Napoleon’s mask which was
taken after the death.Other two masks were kept in
London and Paris. Khobi

Day 7 |
Kutaisi-TBILISI. Breakfast.
Kutaisi sightseeing.
Visit Bagrati(10thc.), marvelous example of the domed-church
architecture of the high Medieval period, Gelati
monastery (12thc.) the complex comprises a monastery,
academy and church,Sataplia Nature Reserve
ancient Colchis woods of unique beauty and caves. Lunch.After lunch drive to
Tbilisi.En route visit town Gori Stalin's
museum. The exhibits give us an opportunity to re-create scenes
from the life of the dictator.
Uplistsikhe
(1stmillennium
B.C.)complex
of rock-cut halls,
caves, altars, passages
and street, and includes the most ancient theatre in
Georgia.

TBILISI.
Breakfast.
Tbilisi
sightseeing.
Visit the State Museum of Georgia,
Excursion to Winery
“Savane”(1894-1896.
Collections including 1600 sorts
of wine, in which are -Stalin’s private collections,
Napoleon’s private
cognacs…)Wine Tasting. Lunch, After lunch sightseeing
old city Metekhi
church(13th c.),Sioni
Cathedral(6th-7th c.c), Anchiskhati
church(6th c), the Georgian
Museum of Arts(unique collection of Georgian art,
ancient icons, cloisonne enamel works, chased icons and
etc.). Leisure time. |

Day 9 |
TBILISI. Breakfast.
Visit the open Air Museum of
Ethnography (in the Museum are presented examples of
architecture, artifacts and the mode of life from all
parts of Georgia Drive to Mtskheta ancient capital of eastern Georgia, Places to visit Jvari
monastery (6th-7th cc),
masterpiece of the early Medieval Period. Svetitschoveli
cathedral (11th c.) One of the sacred
places of Georgia. The robe of Jesus
Christ is buried within the cathedral.
Samtavro monastery (11th-13th
cc ),the first Christian king,Mirian
and his wife Nana are buried in the church.En route visit Ananuri fortress(16thc.)the complex comprises
fortification, cult and civic buildings. Return to Tbilisi. |

Day 10 |
Tbilisi-TELAVI. Breakfast.
Tbilisi-Telavi the
center of Kacheti region.
En route visit to Gurgaani
Charch.Tsinandali
beautiful English park, oldest wine cellars.
Lunch.
After lunch drive to Telavi.Telavi- sightseeing.
Accommodation to the private houses. Dinner. |

Telavi-SHEKI. Breakfast.Visit to Alaverdi
monastery (11th c),
Ikalto
Academy
(12th c), Shuamta
monastery (5th-7th cc.) Gremi-Architectural
complex of the 16th c. Georgian
- Azerbaijan
Border.After completing customs and immigration
formalities, meet upon
arrival
at Georgian Border and drive to Sheki via Balakan,
Zagatala and Qax with lunch en route. Dinner
and overnight at Sheki Caravanserai.

Day 12 |
Sheki
- BAKU. Morning visit to the mosaic fronted Khan's Palace
and the
History Museum in Sheki, then proceed to
Ismailly and
visit the carpet manufacture centre then onto
Shemakha. Shemakha,
for so long
the
capital and trade centre for western Azerbaijan, is now
a small town.
Visit the Grand Mosque, a very large and attractive
built in
the
late 19th century, the Gulistan Fortress (formerly
enclosed the
residence
of the Shirvan and later the Shemakha kings, and the
Yedi
Gumbez 'Seven Tombs', yet only the three of these
desecrated
octagonal
royal tombs remain reasonably complete. They are the 18th-19th
century mausoleums of the Khans of Shemakha.Drive
to Baku visiting the Diri Baba Mausoleum en route at
Maraza.
Diri
Baba means 'Living Grandfather' and refers to the Sufi
mystic whose
body, entomed here in 1402, mysteriously refused to
decompose,leading
to a posthumous declaration of his sanctity. Evening
arrival in
Baku. Check in Old City Inn Hotel for overnight.

Day 13 |
BAKU.
Half day tour in the 'City of the Winds' with
visits to the
Martyr's Cemetery, located on the higher slopes
of the city's west-end, this is the best place for viewing the
city and the Bay of Baku. Proceed to the Old Town 'Iceri Sehir',
which is also a fortress. See the highlights of Iceri Sehir
including the Palace of the Shirvans (the most striking example of the
Medieval palace
structures in Azerbaijan, dating to the middle of
15th century); the Maiden's Tower (the ancient, eight storey
fortress originally built as a fire beacon) and the Carpet Museum (the
impressive building located on the seafront - its collection was
enriched with the carpets brought from Shusha Carpet Museum,
evacuated before
the
Armenian advance). Afternoon free at leisure.

Baku
- DEPARTURE. After
breakfast transfer to Baku BINA Airport.
